ok, so it turns out spring has sprung? how many times have you heard that already? are you sick of it yet? i’m writing this as i look out the window longing to be frolicking outside in the sunshine but here i am trying to recollect my memories from the past month.

i’ve been quite disengaged from music digging the past month, mainly because i was either focused on prepping for a specific set or mix or i was away and unable to listen to music in the same way. most of the music i’ve been listening to are mixes whilst i run and they tend to be repeats as i have nailed down some signature mixes for specific type of runs. got an easy one coming up - this blissful dub mix from Richard Akingbehin is perfectly suited for floating miles - i experienced a beautiful morning running to this mix on my first morning in miami when the stormy apocalyptic clouds were turning into rays of sunshine. you could also listen to this bouncy tech house mix from kasper marrott for an easy run - puts you in the best mood! for my speedy interval sessions i have this hilariously pacy mix from doctor jeep’s de school gig: the bells in the first 5 minutes. skrillex. iconic dubstep moments. psy-trance edit of kylie. what more could you want! it will make you forget about the lack of breath and tired legs you experience during speed sessions. i did a half marathon this week, on a bright monday morning (wasn’t the wisest mood when i could barely keep my eyes open to do emails in the afternoon), and mama snake’s waking life set powered me through the 2 hour+ run when i was frequently low on energy (the mix + haribos is a great combo). i’ve been turning all of these into a marathon training playlist for any other runners out there who need music to get you through. i’m very deep in training mode right now as i have the copenhagen marathon and hackney half marathon next month and my first ultramarathon in june!!! before i move onto the next topic, i discovered this book about the connection of running and music in philip sherburne’s latest newsletter and pre-ordered it right away. i’m very very excited to dig in!

i was in miami last month, one of my favourite cities, and even though i was mainly there for work it felt like i got to dive a bit deeper into some of the lore within the city. like going to the everglades and seeing alligators! going to the miami open for my first ever tennis tournament. going to party at space for the first time! gutted to have missed out on the miami music week shenanigans last week with villalobos closing things out at space but i got a good glimpse of the club in full swing and it was a real trip. miss the city so much already!

going to finally get my arse into gear these next few weeks and recorded some long-awaited mixes as well as finish all my writing tasks before the highly distracting nature of summer comes so i’m excited to share with you what i’ve been working on soon.

𖦹 ehua’s long-awaited debut album ‘Panta Rei’ has just been announced via 3024. due to be released on the 2nd may, ehua and i caught up last month to chat about the journey of ‘Panta Rei’ which will be shared on here soon and on the 24th april, ehua will be hosting an album launch party at Planet Wax with herself, Martyn, TSVI, Nyksan and myself all playing on the night <3

𖦹 next month, i’ll be playing at kwia for the first time (also marking my first berlin gig!) on the 2nd may ~ full details to come soon. very very very excited for this : )

𖦹 playing at sauna social club this saturday for the Cozi takeover ~ thank you to my bunny sister Jazz for the invite. looking forward to playing some dreamy woozy ambient
