Recommendations: February 2023
For the last month I have been in a dub hole preparing for my first DJ set at Avalon Cafe this weekend (ah!). Whilst manically trying to prepare and practice for my set, I’ve changed the theme of the mix several times but finally settled on in a some sort of dreamy, deep and dubby set. It’s been a very stressful but fun ordeal to research and dig for tracks, most notably noticing that Bandcamp really doesn’t allow for getting lost in rabbit holes - not a fan of their suggestions section at the bottom of the release page. But it’s amazing that they’ve now created a playlist option on their app. No Bandcamp bashing here.
Also this month I returned to Refuge Worldwide, bringing back to life the Untitled 909 show on the Berlin-based radio station. You can listen back to the archive here. Really loved putting this show together and the next one in April will be live from the studio.
